The European Solar Telescope project was presented to the Spanish government and scientific authorities on May 3, 2022. The event took place at the Residencia de Estudiantes of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) in Madrid and included the premiere of the EST documentary "Reaching for the Sun".
